Chapter 509 Painful Reality

Scrub, scrub.

In a dimly lit room, Isaac sat under the light of crystal light. With a rag in hand, he cleaned the silver pistol thoroughly.

The black-inlaid carvings looked powerful and beautiful.

Isaac moved the silver pistol towards the crystal light and nodded with satisfaction.

'That was unnecessary, but thanks." The silver pistol said.

Isaac shrugged his shoulders and put the silver pistol down at the table, "I feel more comfortable using you if I think you are well-maintained."

'Nothing can even make a scratch on me.'

"It's more psychology thing."

'Humans…'

Isaac then grabbed the Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle and removed the silvery blade. He then grabbed the rag and cleaned the gun thoroughly.

After doing that, he cleaned the silvery blade after de-attaching it from the gun. Once done with that, he didn't put it back.

He lowered it down on the table and placed the Mosin-Nagant back in the inventory.

'What are you going to do with that?' The silver pistol asked.

"I have other uses for it." Isaac grabbed the silvery blade and surprisingly grabbed it tight!

His palm began bleeding, staining the blade on his wet blood.

'What are you doing?'

"Watch." Isaac smiled and closed his eyes. The silvery blade slowly started glowing, and its shape began changing.

From an ordinary blade, it turned into a curved dagger in beautiful silver color. The hilt had carvings of three-fanged dragons.

Isaac grabbed a dagger sheath from the inventory and slipped the digger into it. Then, he strapped it around his hip and nodded with satisfaction.

'Why a dagger?'

"To use the blade in the gun has been incredibly insufficient, and I always felt like I could use it better.

"While the person who gave me the blade treated it as some kind of decoration, but for me, it's incredibly valuable.

"It's, after all, made by Hephaestus, the Blacksmithing God, and using it as mere side-decoration would be disgrace.

"Thus, I plan to use it properly as a hidden weapon."

'I see, but perhaps you should hide it then?'

"Hmm, really?" Isaac unstrapped the sheath and looked at the silver pistol with wide arms, asking what now.

'Hide it inside your clothes, somewhere you can take easily.'

"Hmm…" Isaac zipped open the jacket, revealing his shirt. He rubbed his chin and found a good place.

He moved his hands behind his back and slipped the sheath into his back pocket. Luckily, his back pocket was quite deep, enough to fit the dagger.

Then, he stood up and went to the bathroom. In there, he turned his back towards the mirror, which inverted his movements.

He turned his head around and looked over his shoulder at the mirror. There was a slight bulge in his left pocket. However, the pocket hid the dagger.

"This will do." He zipped the jacket and left the bathroom.

'Are you doing this because of your incoming fight?'

"Yes, it's difficult to win without some tricks…"

'Who is this Lord Kalzer? I have heard you talking about him, but isn't he just another human?'

"You have a low opinion of humans, don't you?" Isaac sat on the bed while tying his shoelaces.

'Well… They haven't been very impressive.'

"Because the top quality humans are hiding in shadows." Isaac finished tying his shoe laces and continued, "Most of them don't interact with players. After all, most of them are also Chain Breakers or Legacy Masters, as you call them."

'I see, so they don't want to be known.'

"That's right." Isaac nodded, "Most of them don't care about fame or money because they are from a wealthy family."

'Hmm… I wonder, will they ever appear in public?'

"They will, sooner or later."

"Urgh…" Underlord groggily opened his eyes and felt a strange sensation on his back. It felt like he was swimming with clothes on.

He moved his head around, and his hair was wet alongside his clothes.

He was lying on a dark lake with shallow depth.

"Where am I?" Underlord shakily stood up and looked around. An endless wasteland surrounded the dark lake.

"Lord Erebus, hello?" He spoke aloud.

"Here."

"?!" Underlord whipped around and saw an elderly figure with a droopy gaze. The flowing water didn't touch even the hem of his clothes, instead drifted around him.

"Lord Erebus!" Underlord knelt on the dark lake, not caring about getting wet.

Erebus rapped his finger against his walking stick and said, "To master the power of reality, you must know what reality is."

"Reality is?" Underlord frowned and thought that he had a pretty vivid image of it.

Erebus immediately understood what he was thinking. His long lips curved upwards into a mocking smile.

"Reality is pain and suffering!"

"Eh?" Underlord's eyes shook, and suddenly the dark sky raged with enormous lightnings.

A flash of nightmarish dark lightning descended from the sky and struck Underlord in his head!

"ARGFHGHGHGH!" Underlord's crazed scream echoed throughout the dark realm. His hair slowly charred while most of his face melted away.

After a minute, the lightning disappeared and revealed a burnt Underlord. However, the wounds healed almost immediately.

"A-Agh…" Underlord fell on the lake with horror flashing across his face, "T-That hurt… that pain was so vivid… Why? All my pain mechanism is zero… why did it hurt so much?"

"That is the power of reality." Erebus looked down at him with disdain, "You and players have indeed the useful ability of not feeling pain. However, my power can easily remove the miraculous ability."

"Y-Y-You are saying…" Underlord gulped.

Erebus' smile grew larger, "Yes… I can even kill you if I want to."

Underlord's mood dropped to an all-time low. He realized that he had made a severe error of picking up Erebus's dark book. If he had to suffer from the lightning even one more time, he wished he would be dead!

"Don't have suicidal thoughts yet." Erebus grinned viciously, "We have only started. After I am done with you, you will be a nightmare for the players.

"I-I don't want to…" Underlord tried to log out. However, despair covered every part of his mind after seeing that the log-out button wasn't available.

"Hahahaha!" Erebus snapped his finger, and another nightmarish dark lightning descended down from the heavens.

"NOOO!" Underlord screamed in horror, and the lightning soon engulfed him wholly, "ARGHHHHHHHHH!"
