Chapter 994

Stephan hummed lightly.

| looked at the door, and my eyes flickered. "Can you open the door then, Mr. Stephan?"

Noticing that Stephan was moving, | looked at him and immediately broke out in a cold sweat.

He had opened his eyes and was staring fixedly at me.

| gulped and asked in a quivering voice, "Are you drunk, Mr. Stephan?"

Stephan got up to his feet and said blandly, "Don't infuriate Mr. Milan. He's more frightening than you think."

He turned around and left after saying that.

| froze in place, my mood extraordinarily complicated.

Looking at Stephan's back, | said in a hoarse voice, "I just want to see how they're doing."

"They won't die," the man said indifferently.

| slumped to the ground, feeling like | was going to break down.

Was there no other way to save them?

What if | begged Milan?

There was no better way, so | could only try my luck.

| got up from the floor and ran to the kitchen.

After running into the kitchen, | found a fruit knife and slit my wrist.

This was not the first t| had harmed myself. It was nothing terrifying to me, so I did it without a single

hesitation.

| walked to the living room and fell to the floor slowly.

Just as | was about to lose consciousness, | saw a servant rushing towardin a hurry. | breathed a sigh of relief

and closed my eyes.

| woke up in a hospital and got to meet Milan as | had hoped.

"You're awake?” he asked with little emotion.

Franky stood behind him and askedblandly, "Why did you try to kill yourself?"

| looked at Stephan, then at Milan, feeling a little dumbfounded.

Did Stephan not tell Milan | had set him up?

| looked at him with slightly complicated eyes. | then asked Milan with a husky voice, "Sir, can | exchange my life

for theirs?"

Milan sneered. "Use your life to exchange for four lives? Do you think you're worth a lot of money?"

| took a deep breath and asked, "Aren't you curious

aboutand the Fredericks' relationship?"

He raised his eyebrows. "Does that concern me?"

It was too hard to communicate with this man.

| fell silent for a very long tand said, "Since the Fredericks are looking forand you also intend to send me

back, why don't you just doand the Fredericks a favor and let my friends go too?"

Franky clicked his tongue. "You must've hit your head, huh, woman? How dare you talk to Mr. Milan about

favors?”

| ignored him and merely looked at Milan, waiting for his answer.

Milan looked atand asked, "What's your relationship with the Fredericks, then?"

"It goes much deeper than you think.”

This was a complete lie, but | could only say that. They revered the Fredericks, so the closer | was to the

Fredericks, the more chances | had in bargaining and negotiating with him.

Milan did not speak immediately, but after staring atfor a moment, he said, "The terms are mutual.”

| was a little stunned, then grew serious. "What do you want?"
