Chapter 320 Christopher’s Fate Part 5

Chapter 320: Christopher's Fate Part 5

Christopher was ranked second in the Assembly Knights for a reason. One of those many reasons is that he is only second in strength and power when compared to Magnus.

Magnus has long already known of that reason, but this was the first time that he has personally experienced it for himself as it is strictly forbidden between the members of the Assembly Knights to fight against each other.

However, instead of discouraging Magnus from fighting, this only serves as fuel that boosts his will to fight against Christopher.

"You are a worthy opponent!" Magnus strangely muttered as he swung his spear.

"And you're weaker than I thought," Christopher sneered.

"That's only because I am not using any of my magic yet," Magnus smiled.

Seeing the smug look on Magnus' face, Christopher instantly understood that the former still hadn't used his full strength. This was his mistake, as he was already using his full strength to fight against Magnus, thus he instantly believed the other was also doing the same. How mistaken he was.

In the next moment, Magnus jumped twenty meters away from Christopher.

Christopher raised his eyebrow but suddenly noticed Magnus was gathering a huge amount of mana around the surroundings. And the latter was doing it very fast, not leaving him any room to disrupt.

"Oh no!" Christopher immediately realized.

With a thrust of his spear, Magnus roared loudly, "<<Flaming Tyrant>>!"

A huge dragon head suddenly traveled forth out from the spear of Magnus and opened its mouth widely as if trying to consume Christopher whole.

"Shit!" Christopher swore loudly as he inserted strength to his feet.

Booom!

The battlefield was soon covered entirely by a thick cloud of dust and the space around Christopher and Magnus distorted due to the extreme hotness that surrounds everywhere.

It was practically impossible to see what was happening inside the thick cloud of dust as if some sort of domain covered them.

The last thing everyone witnessed was the huge dragon head engulfing Christopher.

"What's the status?" Chief Kylo can't help asking Lecter and Patter.

"It's very vague, sir," Lecter responded.

"With the distortion in space and everything, we'll have to wait and see," Patter added.

Meanwhile, Kayn and the rest were also experiencing the same. They can't see what's the current situation inside the cloud of dust.

However, unlike everyone, Kayn was able to get firsthand information because of Natas.

"Christopher is seriously injured," Natas expresses while his eyes are fully focused on the cloud of smoke. "He was unable to dodge in time due to the strong pressure that pulled his body and made him remain in his place,"

This was the exact reason why majority of the time dodging or escaping from a powerful attack is proven very difficult. The pressure that those powerful attacks bring is sometimes too much for the body to easily resist. Once that happens, even if there's enough time to exert strength on one's body and jump away, the counter-resistance would prevent them from escaping away.

"How unfortunate," Kayn muttered. This wasn't supposed to be how he wanted things to happen. It's way too easy for Christopher to depart from this world like this after what the latter had done to him in the second life.

"Change of plans," Kayn suddenly turned to Maria and Wesley, "The two of you, go and save Christopher,"

"Save him?" Maria was taken aback.

"Weren't we supposed to make him suffer?" Wesley already understood what Kayn intended to do to Christopher considering that he didn't immediately kill the latter.

"As you can see, Christopher is not suffering," Kayn returns his attention back to the ongoing fight.

"I see,"

Maria and Wesley instantly understood. In other words, Kayn wants Christopher to suffer a lot more before eventually dying.

"Just what on Earth did Christopher do to you that you want him to suffer so much?" Gilbert can't help asking.

"If only you know, you might even volunteer to make Christopher suffer," Kayn whispered silently while shaking his head.

He was referring to the second life. If Christopher and the others hadn't betrayed humanity for merely their own interest, there would have been a significant chance to save the world and everyone, including Gilbert, taken if he was still alive at that time.

Unfortunately, nobody knows aside from him and Natas.

"Once the dust settles down, go for it!" Kayn orders.

Quite timely enough, after Kayn said that, the thick cloud of dust could finally be seen settling down.

However, the distortion in space still remains due to the extreme hotness left by the aftermath of the <<Flaming Tyrant>>.

Before the cloud of dust could disappear, Maria and Wesley didn't waste any time as they immediately jumped into the cover and right after pulled the seriously injured Christopher out.

"You are not going anywhere!" Magnus roared out and released a volley of flaming serpents towards the retreating Maria and Wesley.

"You go, I'll hold him off," Maria pushed Wesley away and decided to stay and defend.

As Maria grabbed her sword, she didn't hesitate to parry all incoming flaming serpents.

Clang!

Cling!

"I didn't expect I'd meet you this soon, Maria," Magnus walked out of the cloud of dust.

"I was honestly hoping not to see you again, Magnus," Maria stepped backward.

"Unluckily day,"

After muttering that, Magnus lunged himself right away.

Bang!

A loud sound of metal hitting against metal echoed as Maria was thrown far away.

"You are ranked fifth in the Assembly Knights for a reason, and one of that is your strength is far from mine," Magnus disregarded Maria and turned his focus to Wesley who was running away while carrying Christopher on his shoulder. "And you,"

"You better not think I'd be an easy opponent like Maria," Wesley uttered in hopes of discouraging Magnus from attacking him.

"Fool! The only reason why you are ranked third is because of the threat that your Gift brings. Not your personal strength," Magnus didn't hesitate to chase after Wesley.
