Chapter 767 - Ishtar Competition (2)

Competition Ground, Ishtar.

"Boom!"

A huge explosion erupted in the middle of the desert sending small grains of sand flying all into the air.

A storm had begun to rage in this once peaceful part of the desert as the intense fighting continued.

"Crackle!"

A strong wave of lightning rushed out across the desert in a small radius, and the next instant, a painful screech of a creature resonated.

Tia too took a leap, and immediately got out of the area of effect of the spell, and saved herself from the painful attack.

The student from West Gale on the other hand, immediately let out all his mana and strengthened his control of the Death Eater, and took full control of its movement.

This guy was actually a Beast Tamer. It was one of the rarest kind to find, and one of them had finally appeared after such a long while.

"Are you guys an idiot?" Melan on the other hand screamed at these two in anger. "Do you really think this is the right decision?"

"Why not?" Tia asked with a snort. She obviously wouldn't say that she was intentionally being on Arcane's side, and the same was true for the West Gale guy, he too had been asked to take Arcane's side by their leader.

"They are stronger than us? Shouldn't we take them down first?" Melan calmly stated seeing that Tia was willing to talk.

"Aren't you stronger than us too? I don't think we are wrong in trying to take you down as well," She stated with a smile.

"Either you are an idiot, or you are pretending to be one.." Melan shook his head. He was not a fool. Even if this girl was an idiot, there was no way that the smarter ones had not told her how to act in various situations.

'Are these people having some secret dealings that I am not aware of?' Melan muttered inwardly while still carefully keeping his eye on the two ahead of him.

But, on a deeper thought, it didn't seem possible. An alliance between three teams wasn't so easy to achieve. After all, with three teams, there aren't sufficient rewards to share.

"Tsk.." Melan's brows twitched, and he clicked his tongue in anger before moving away.

"Boom!"

"Screee!!!!!!!!" The Death Eater once again emerged from the sand, and let out a terrifying screech. It seemed to have entered a frenzy, and its movement became extremely quick and erratic.

"Damn it!! You guys really think I am this easy to deal with?!!" Melan's anger immediately soared when he saw the Beast in a frenzy. A frenzy was the strongest move in the arsenal of Beast Tamer.

Like the move suggested, it sent a beast in a frenzy, and it was the strongest state a beast could be in.

It was usually a trump card, and used only as a last resort. As the Beast would usually experience a decline in its state for a short period after the frenzy ended.

So, when Melan saw that the West Gale guy had sent the beast in a frenzy, he knew the guy was trying to go all out and take him down.

How could it not get on his nerves?

Even though he was emphasising that the other two were stronger than him, he didn't believe that he was any less talented. And, even if he was a little weaker, he was still a Celestial.

Just because he was holding back, didn't mean that people could walk over his face. He had his pride to defend. And, especially even more so because of the recent events. After all, he had given more emphasis to tactics this time, and had even mounted sneak attacks and set up traps.

These were all legitimate methods, but people didn't see it as ethical. Some even went ahead to call him out for using foul methods. Let's say, he wasn't a heroic figure in the eyes of the people now. But, he didn't care, he was told about the importance of this competition by his father.

So, what if he was not following ethics? Google seaʀᴄh (f)ir(e).nᴇt

Winning was everything now, the future looked unstable to him, and if this style of battle could help him to stabilise that future even by a small margin, then he didn't mind turning from a hero into a devil.

"Crackle!"

A huge of amount of Electrical discharge spread across the desert. Even Faryl and August, who were fighting a little away from them, stopped and looked towards the place with a little surprise in their eyes.

"Careful!" Tia shouted and jumped behind using her monstrous strength to escape the discharge. Her eyes had turned grim as she looked at the guy who had just broken through his limits, and was radiating a terrifying aura of an expert Tier mage.

In the distance, Faryl was surprised, "This is surprising…"

"He went almost all the way to the early stage in one go.." August nodded. That guy had been hanging around half a step to Expert Tier, and now he was a little bit away from the Early stage of Expert Tier.

The leap signified that he had never been lacking in terms of mana quality. It was most likely some mental barrier that he had been unable to break.

"Well, they will be having their fun. How about you get serious now?" Farly asked as he shifted his gaze towards August. "Don't tell me the early stage your limit as well?"

"Shouldn't I be asking the same?" August questioned in return, and the next second both his and Faryl's aura began to climb and shot through early levels, reaching the mid stage of expert tier.

Currently, the two of them were the strongest existence in the competition ground if measured purely in terms of power.

"Whoosh!"

Suddenly, the two of them clashed at lightning speed, and the desert was instantly divided into halves. One being filled with fire and other with water.

And, it didn't stop there. The two of them clashed dividing the desert into two half of fire and water, making the whole place into a land of mine with explosions everywhere.

The scene immediately sent the people watching outside into silence.
