Chapter 722 - A Chaotic Night (2)

"I was just planning to observe, but it seems that it isn't an option anymore.."

Everyone's gaze shifted towards this man who had arrived all of sudden.

Patriarch Yule's eyes seemed to particularly light up on seeing this person. Googlᴇ search Noᴠel Fɪre.net

Everybody recognized this uninvited man.

It was the Fourth Elder of Scarlet House, The Blood Lightning, Hank Scarlet.

The Elders immediately became tensed on seeing this person arrive. Just a while ago, they had given the account log a look. It was obvious that there was a connection between the Patriarch and the Lady of Scarlet House. And, now looking at this man who had arrived when the Patriarch was in trouble, it only made the thing in the account log seem more legit.

But, no one dared to voice it out.

"Sir Hank! It's good to see you arrive here! Thank god, you were passing by." The Patriarch greeted him while putting on an excellent act, that put actors to shame.

"I don't want to interfere with your personal matters. I have already been rude by eavesdropping here. I would like apologize for my curious nature." Hank apologized as he looked at the people around, and then prepared to leave.

"Wait! Sir, there is nothing rude about it!! Instead, your curiosity couldn't have found any better timing." the Patriarch Yule immediately stopped him.

"What do you mean?" Hank looked at Patriarch Yule in confusion.

"Sir, this man is trying to frame me, and seize control of the Family! He clearly has ill intentions! I don't have any wish for power, but I can't leave the lives of my people in this man's hand!"

The old man Sun's face twitched on seeing the Patriarch's acting skills. No wonder he had never managed to find anything wrong with this guy.

Even Max was left speechless for a second.

"What is going on?" Hank looked at all the Elders around. "I know this is your personal matter. But, we are allies, I can't possibly leave when things are like this."

No one said anything, even the old man was keeping his quiet.

"I will be impartial, there is no need to worry." Hank reassured everyone, but the Elders weren't worried about that. They knew this guy would immediately flip after realizing that the Lady of the Scarlet House was the one in question here.

It was obvious that the First Elder would face the consequences then.

Most of the Elders wanted the First Elder to be the Patriarch, but they really felt helpless when he acted so suddenly without any plan. If they had carefully planned it out, then it would have been very easy to remove the current Patriarch and place him as the new one.

"Give the account log!" The Patriarch shouted at the 8th Elder and he didn't dare to refuse.

"Sir, this is the fake account log that man has prepared." The Patriarch explained to Hank as he pointed at the First Elder who was still calmly sitting there with his elbow on the arm rest, and his chin supported by the fist.

Hank looked at the old geezer, and then turned the pages of the account log.

And, as expected, his face began to turn dark.

"What is the meaning of this?" The aura of the Supreme began to leak out of his body as he looked at the old man.

The people around trembled in fear, and held their breaths not daring to make any sound.

"Whoosh!"

Hank threw the account log right at the Old man, who caught it with ease.

"Do you don't know what you are trying to do? You want to frame the Lady of Scarlet House?"

"We frame people who haven't done anything wrong. So, I can't frame your Lady." The Old man raised his head, brought one of his legs over the other as he calmly replied.

His words shocked people!

He really dared to say it!!

"It seems you aren't afraid of death. There are thousands of people who can testify to the Lady's presence." Hank snorted, "So, I will give you two options."

"First, you destroy that thing right now. And, come with me to accept your punishment."

"Second, we can continue your game. But, if the Lady is proved innocent, then you better be prepared for the worst."

Everyone turned their heads towards the First Elder, wondering what he was going to do.

Some were hoping he would relent, and not fight back. There was no way for them to beat the Scarlet House who were the true overlord of the Ocien.

"You want me to burn this?" The Old man asked as he looked at Hank.

"Unless you are prepared for it," Hank replied.

"Flare!"

The account log suddenly engulfed itself in flame.

A few people felt relieved, but there were some who had a tinge of disappointment in their eyes.

"Good.." Hank smiled, but there was a disdainful look in his eyes. And, the same was true for the Patriarch Yule. He coldly looked at the First Elder with a smirk on his face.

"Now, follow me back to the Scarlet House, and confess your crimes," Hank said as he turned around.

The people around sighed seeing this scene.

"Why did you destroy the evidence?" the old man Sun's voice rang around.

Everyone turned around to look at him wondering if he had gone crazy under the pressure.

But, he still was calmly sitting there like a king.

"What are you talking about?" Hank asked with a frown.

"I said, why did you destroy the evidence?" the old man repeated, and this time everyone was dumbfounded by his behavior realizing that he was serious.

"Grand Elder!"

"Y-Yes.." The Grand Elder stepped up in fear as he looked at the Old man.

"Send the message to Scarlet House, the Patriarch Yule conspired against his own family. And, the Fourth Elder of the Scarlet House, who was in on it with him, came and destroyed the evidence of his involvement. But, was caught in the act."

"As a result, he was killed in the fight. They can come and retrieve the body if they want.."

"...."

A silence enveloped the hall.
