Chapter 628 - A Surprise

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Several Spells rained down on the spot where Lear and the two other ladies were positioned. The barrage of spells shook the whole place, and alerted everyone around.

"Stop!" Logan shouted as he felt the structure around beginning to shake. A bit more, and it would probably collapse.

The people around immediately stopped at his command. And, when the smoke and dust from the attack settled, people's eyes went wide.

Lear was actually still standing there with a shield in his hand. The protective formation on it was partially lit, and it had formed a barrier in front of him protecting the things behind.

Logan's eyes immediately turned grim when he noticed the Iron Wolf missing. There were no traces of it around, but the hole in the ground was more than enough to give him an idea about its whereabouts.

"Spread out! It must haven't gone too far!" Logan shouted and the people around immediately moved out.

"Clang!"

The shield fell off of Lear's bloody hand. He was injured and his hand had become a blood mess.

"Too bad for you kid, you couldn't get both of them out.." Logan looked at Lear with a menacing smile on his face. It was true that he couldn't get Lora out. Because she was tied up with chains which had mana sealing formation on it. It wasn't easy to get her out of those in a short time.

"And, I am sure that you don't have much mana left after sending that person out. Besides, that person will not escape as well. I just need to kill you and that Wolf will fall apart right then and there."

Lear took out his sword with multiple flexible blades on it and pointed it towards him, "Come and give your best then."

He then looked towards Lora, and the remaining pieces of metal immediately formed a protective dorm around her. With that, he could be a bit reassured.

"What's with this act now? Didn't you abandon her life over your mother's?" Logan asked with a sneer.

"I indeed did. But, let me compensate her by being together till the last moment. If I can't save her, I will die with her." Lear smiled as he moved, and in the same instant, he sent a message out.

<<Come Fast! Or you will see me dead! I can't hold out much longer! I will try to buy time as much as I can. Just get Lora out of here first, she can't even move herself!>>

<<I will haunt you if you fail!>>

"Clang!"

Lear's eyes widened when Logan wrapped his hands around his flexible blades catching them just with the use of his mana barrier.

He tried to pull it back, but the difference in strength was just too great. Lear hadn't even reached Expert Tier and was currently facing a Master Tier. That was just ridiculous. It was like a kid trying to fight with an adult.

"Weak!" Logan smiled as he pulled the blades and shot his leg out.

"Bang!" The kick connected to Leo's abdomen, but he still didn't let go of his weapons. He knew that letting go of the two weapons would spell into a disaster. He was already physically weak in comparison to someone this man's Tier. And, now if he lost his weapon advantage, that would be terrible.

"You stubborn prick.." Logan kicked once again, and blood immediately spilled out of Lear's mouth. But, the moment it did, Lear immediately flicked his finger and sent that blood flying into Logan's eyes.

That was the last thing he probably was expecting. It immediately caught him off guard, and his grip on the blades loosened as he staggered a bit backwards.

Leo immediately used this opportunity, and closed in on Logan. The blades in his hands immediately went in an arc as he slashed it towards them.

"Shank!"

The attack connected.

It seemed that Logan had paid the price of still underestimating Lear. And, a cut appeared on his side even though it was a shallow one.

It was extremely difficult for Lear to break through this guy's mana barrier to wound him properly.

"You piece of sh*t!" Logan was enraged.

"Boom!"

Mana erupted from his body and Lear was sent flying away as he crashed into the metal dorm that he had built around Lora.

"You really are a pest!" Logan glared at Lear who was lying on the ground with a bloody head and mouth.

'Damn it! He is just too strong!' Lear cried inwardly as he tried to get up again and defend. But, he was hurt and couldn't do it. He had barely received two normal blows and this was his condition. He finally seemed to have realized that Max hadn't gone serious on him even once.

Logan slowly walked towards Lear and in the end grabbed him by hair before lifting him up into the air, "It's time for you to go now."

'Damn it! I don't even have enough mana!' Lear cursed inwardly as he looked at the man's palm which seemed to be coming for him.

And as it was about to reach Lear's face a clunking noise resounded in the vicinity as a hole broke out of the iron dorm behind and a hand came out of it passing right by Lear's head and grabbing onto Logan's hand.

"Grip!"

The sudden turn of events left everyone dumbfounded and they looked at the Iron Dorm.

The Iron dorm crafted by Lear suddenly exploded revealing Lora's figure inside. But, the aura she was releasing was terrifying. Even Logan's face changed.

"Did you wait for long, Babe?" Lora asked as she looked at the dumbfounded Lear. But, before Lear could respond, he got another heart attack when Lora's hairs fell down revealing short black hairs beneath.

Lora looked at the hair below and shook her head.

"Guess, it's the end here. I hope you wouldn't mind it, Old man. I was more than patient enough to allow you to see things clearly…" Lora spoke in a loud voice, but her voice was no longer feminine.

Lear had no idea what was going on, but a second later it all became clear as Lora exploded in flames and when the flames died down.. It was no longer her, but Max standing there with a smile on his face.
