Chapter 360: Time for Punishment

It was almost 4 in the morning. Seeing that Lisa was having no trouble with her sleep, Max decided to enter the spirit world.

"What's wrong with you two?" He asked, observing Andriel and Leviathanstaring at Sera and her gang with an odd look.

"Max!"

Sera as usual seeing Max immediately ran towards him.

Max caught her in his arms and walked towards the duo who were looking at him with dumbfounded gazes.

"Will you say anything? What's wrong?" Max couldn't help but frown seeing their faces.

"Umn...do you know her identity?" Leviathan couldn't help but ask nervously.

"Yeah….she told me her name when we first met." Max said with a weird look not understanding what was going on…

"Sera, right?" Leviathan asked.

"That's a nickname. Her real name is Seraphine…"

Leviathan's face quivered as Max confirmed the fact while Andriel's lips curled up into a smile.

"Is there anything wrong?"

"Its-"

Before Leviathan could speak anymore, Andriel cut her off.

"It's nothing….we just have been wondering why she acts like a child. She almost formed an adult-looking body for a second…."

"I don't know. But isn't this how it happens? She matures as I make progress…" Max was doubtful of it as well. He didn't know about Leviathan but Andriel sure was mature from the beginning and could control her power at ease.

"That's interesting…" Andriel said with a smile as her interest in the situation surged.

"What kind of contract did you form?"

Max didn't know what that even meant. Was there some different types here? He didn't get any options though.

"I don't know...I didn't hear there were different kinds of contracts…"

"Didn't she say anything to you during your encounter….it has to be something significant you know...if you really want to form a contract…" Andriel further asked.

Max felt that something was going on here. The duo were both oddly interested in this topic for some reason.

"She said something like choosing me and dedicating her entire life….." Max said with a sigh remembering the event.

Leviathan looked at the little girl in Max's arms. Her eyes had widened to their limits. Any more and they would definitely be popping out of their socket.

"Now will you guys tell me what's going on?" Max asked.

"You will know when the time comes. It isn't anything important anyway…" Andriel said as she took Sera from Max. She knew that Max wasn't a fool. He must have guessed something up here.

"Where are you taking her?" Max asked.

"To the bath...wanna join?" Andriel smiled as she grabbed Leviathan along.

Max knew that he wasn't going to get anything here.

"For that girl named Lisa….you can rest assured. Though this little girl used a forceful method...it should last at least half a year…" Andriel said before leaving.

Max nodded.

'It seems having a connection with her as a follower helped….' Max could only think of that as a reason why this trick worked. Otherwise as Andriel had told, there was a high chance of collision between two high-grade energy.

As Max left the spirit world, others had entered the lake near the waterfall.

"I never thought that she would be the one to come…" Leviathan said staring at Sera who was being washed by Andriel.

"When I first saw her, I thought that the Fairy Queen had sent some useless kid, making a fool out of the decision taken by the 12 races. But it wasn't much of a surprise knowing what kind of b*tch she was…"

"But now, look at her. I don't know what happened but isn't she cute?" Andriel said as she tickled Sera.

"Ah! Big Sis An….." Sera struggled to get out of her grasp as she giggled without a stop until tears were drawn out of her eyes.

"I won't talk to you anymore." She said with a puffed up cheeks and red face when Andriel finally stopped before moving away from her in anger.

Andriel couldn't help but smile seeing her. Of course, Leviathan didn't dare to.

"Do you think she will kill us all after her memories return…" Leviathan asked nervously. Even though she was a Queen as well, she had just inherited the throne from her father and was way weaker than the other Kings and Queens.

"Well, knowing her character...she will most definitely do to hide this embarrassment." Andriel replied after remembering Sera's true personality.

"But don't worry. She formed a life and death contract with him. She can't kill him even if she wants too." Andriel further said, reminding Leviathan about it.

"Yeah! The contract….doesn't that mean she can't return back even after everything is over…" Leviathan asked with wide eyes.

Andriel nodded. "I bet everyone in the spirit realm will celebrate that…"

"Wait! Doesn't that mean she will kill us and prevent us from leaking this when we return?" Leviathan suddenly asked.

"Well, she can't kill me. Besides, I am not returning…." Andriel replied.

Leviathan looked at her in a daze.

"Enough...lets tease the little girl a bit more. She is so cute. Besides, it will surely be a good show when she recovers her memory."

….

The next day arrived….

Academy wouldn't be opening these few days as the capital had been still in lockdown.

Many of the structures had taken a hit and no one knew when one would collapse. So until everything was checked the situation wouldn't improve.

As Max got down into the hall, he met the Mage king and immediately received his glare.

As Max was about to go out for training as usual. A servant came in and whispered something in the Mage King's ears.

Obviously, such things didn't matter to Max as he could clearly hear it.

"Sir, as you asked. I have called the Lorenz House and the person has finally arrived to take Young Lady's friend…"

"Good...you can go now…'' the Mage King replied.

As soon as the servant left, the Mage Ming cleared his throat.

"Uhmn….."

"You didn't forget your punishment right?"

Max looked at him but didn't reply.

"You have already avoided it for a few days and now that you are here, someone must have spread it. The Lorenz House demanded you to carry out your punishment. Even though you are my son-in-law, I can't do any favors to you…."

'But you sure can against me….' Max didn't know what to say. He just nodded his head.

"I will talk to him….he is outside right…" Max said before leaving.

….

Max met a man outside. He was most likely just a servant.

"I am here on Sir Sirius's order to take you to Lorenz mansion." He said as he pulled out the door of the car.

"You can leave first. I will get there on my own." Max said as he stretched his body.

"But, Sir…" the man said with hesitation. He didn't want to fail at his job.

"Don't worry. I will reach before you…." Max said as he began to jog and soon was out of the man's sight.

The man could only helplessly get in the car and drive it as slow as he could giving Max more time. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on novelenglish.net . Fɪre

….

"Where is Max?''

The Mage King looked at the Old man who just appeared in front of him.

"He had some important work. So, he left…." the Mage King replied.

"Hmmm…." the old man sat down beside him.

"Does this important work have something to do with the call you make in the morning….."

The Mage King's body froze and the newspaper in his hand quivered.

The old man had been keeping an eye on Max all the time and while he was at it, he had heard his son working on his little plan

Since his son had already done it, he just couldn't undo it as he had already passed the position of Lord to him. He could have clearly kept Max for a few more days if things were left alone yet...this son of his....

Still he would leave it alone this time....he knew how to act according to the situation..

After the recent incident...things had turned chaotic among the families due to the different approaches they took. It wasn't the time to become the punching bag by being unreasonable and giving other any chance.

But still, he could use his son to relive some of his anger…

The Mage King looked in horror as the old man got up cracking his fingers.
