A neighbor then told her that her father and stepmother had gone on a vacation and were not at home.

As for Aria, the neighbor said she very rarely ever came here after having bought a big house

somewhere else and had been basically living

there.

Hearing this, Serenity started to worry if they had done this on purpose. They must have known that

she would visit her mother’s grave today, so they made sure not to be home.

“Then you must at least know where they are now, right?!”

when they get back, okay?”

Shortly afterward, Serenity could hear the voice of a man on the other end of the line saying, “I don’t

think this lipstick suits you.”

She was stunned because she recognized that voice to be Lucas’s.

She then heard her sister replying coquettishly, “But I thought you’d like this shade! Fine, I’ll choose a

different one.”

After saying that, Aria then went back to the phone and said, “Okay, I’ve got to go now. I’m in the

middle of something.

She then hung up the phone.

Serenity stared at the phone screen. An indescribable feeling arose inside her. She had just met Lucas

Gomez a few days ago, and he had said all those things to her… Yet, while he was not with Serenity,

he was with Aria, choosing lipstick with her.

For a man like Lucas Gomez, she must have been just something new that he wanted to try playing

with for a while. That was probably the only reason why he had said all those things to her. He might

have some feelings for her, but he was likely the sort of man who had feelings for many women at the

Serenity put her phone back in her handbag. Her mood was in a downward spiral. There was no way
