After hearing his words, Scarlett promptly chuckled, "Liar." Scarlett had just woken up, and her hair was a little unkempt, her charming eyes somewhat sleepy, but when she smiled, her eyes seemed to be veiled by a layer of faint drowsiness, and there was a gleam in them.

Raymond was itching to kiss her.

Scarlett anticipated it and stopped him. " You haven't brushed your teeth yet!" After saying that, she gently pushed his face aside, turned around and got out of bed. "I'll go and freshen up!" This was the first tthat she had shared a bed with a man.

Of course, they had only slept.

They hadn't done anything other than that. If they told other people about it, chances were that none of them would believe it.

After freshening herself up, Scarlett went downstairs to find that Raymond was heating milk and baking bread in the kitchen.

Standing in the doorway of the kitchen and watching him expertly frying eggs, Scarlett was amazed. "Raymond, you can cook?" As a kitchen-burner, Scarlett felt that learning culinary skills was an obstacle she would probably never be able to overcome.

"Yeah." Scarlett was suspicious of that, but the egg he fried was so good-looking. She felt that it was very unlikely for anybody who didn't know how to cook to make a fried egg like that.

Having perceived her silence, Raymond glanced over his shoulder at her. "You can't?" "The nanny can handle this kind of stuff." Scarlett made a response blandly, walked to the side and poured herself a glass of warm water.

Raymond turned off the gas and carried the newly made sandwiches outside." From now on, I'll cook for you." Scarlett sat opposite him and took the milk from his hand. "Thanks." She was thanking him for making her such a big promise and for handing the milk to her.

Raymond lifted his head to glance at her." You're welcome." After breakfast, the two of them went to their respective companies.

Last night Raymond mentioned the 80th birthday of Jasper. At noon Katherine delivered the invitation from the Sheridan family to Scarlett.

Normally, Scarlett wouldn't accept the invitation. The Sheridan family had invited Scarlett many times in recent years. Oh, it had been Suny that they invited, to be precise.

But Scarlett had seldom graced them with her presence. Apart from anything else, only a limited few were worthy of her presence at their birthday parties.

However, this tshe made an exception, for Darrell had picked this day to teach Yvonne a lesson. Scarlett also wanted to see what Darrell was going to do.

Well, she would like to see Yvonne cut a sorry figure.

Scarlett accepted the invitation. "Raymond and | will attend the party together." Katherine understood what Scarlett meant. Soon she made a reply to the Sheridan family that Suny couldn't spare the time.

On Jasper's 80th birthday, Raymond picked up Scarlett and took her out for dinner something after five o'clock.

After dinner, the two of them went to the hotel. When they arrived, a lot of people had entered.

Alexander, Stephen and Jake had been there for quite a while. They were talking animatedly, and none of the others could chip in. At the sight of Raymond and Scarlett, Alexander lifted his brows and promptly walked up to them.

Jasper had been in poor health in recent years. He hadn't cout yet. Yvonne's parents, big brother, uncles and cousins were entertaining the guests.

The instant Scarlett and Raymond walked inside, Yvonne spotted them.

Though the way Scarlett and Raymond were interacting suggested no intimacy, Yvonne still remembered what Raymond had said in the private room the other day.

She clenched her teeth. Finding the sight of them unpleasing to the eye, she turned to glance at Darrell. "I'll go and greet Ms.

Reed." Darrell took a sip of red wine. "Okay." He looked at Yvonne's receding back, his face hardening.

He doubted that Yvonne would be able to smile again after tonight!
